I’m trying this new thing where I “eat clean”. Which kinda sucks, because cheeseburgers > salad. But you are what you eat, and cheeseburgers don’t look very good in bikinis. I tried to Google image search “cheeseburger in bikini” to offer you proof, but the results were very strange. And not work appropriate. So just trust me on this one.
This new eating clean thing started last week (inspired by this woman’s blog), and I have to admit, I feel really good. Except on Sunday morning, because I had a few too many adult beverages on Saturday night and made a stop at Wendy’s on the way home. Oops.
Anyway, the basic rules are to eat things that are more a product of nature than a product of industry. No highly processed/refined foods. No white flour. No sugar. No fast food (broke that rule already). If you’re going to eat “junk food” you have to make it yourself. For example, if you want a french fry, you gotta buy the potato, peel it, wash it, slice it, and fry it yourself.
So from now on, I’ll try to remember to post my weekly menu every Monday and then share the recipes throughout the week. By the way, consider planning out your meals in advance so that you only have to shop once at the grocery store and save yourself time (and money) during the work week. So without further ado, here is this week’s menu.
Monday: Springtime Risotto with Lemon Pepper Salmon
Tuesday: Arancini (made with the leftover risotto) and Chicken Marinara — been having a ridiculous craving for arancini lately. It’s time to address the issue.
Wednesday: Fish Tacos — QFC was having a huge sale on cod, so I stocked up.
Thursday: Turkey Burgers
Friday: Happy hour. Followed by more happy hour.
